It is with enormous sadness that staff and governors at Broadoak Primary School have to share that on Saturday 23rd August, Rukshana Miah, our wonderful Year 6 teacher, died after a short period in hospital.
Rukshana joined Broadoak in 2007 and was a much loved and valued colleague and friend. An outstanding teacher who was devoted to the success of the children that she taught, Rukshana was at the heart of the school and will be remembered fondly by staff, parents and children alike.
Our thoughts are with Ruk’s children and family at this terrible time. Broadoak will be a sadder place without her, we have lost one of our best.
Rukshana’s family have told us that they have been overwhelmed with the compassion, kind thoughts and support they have received. Over the coming days and weeks we will have a chance to reflect on Ruk’s time with us. We would like to invite parents and families to come into school on Tuesday 2nd September to share their memories and add to a condolences book which will be passed onto the family.
We ask everyone to please respect Ruk’s memory and the feelings of everyone who knew her at this painful and sensitive time.
